a Blog Challenge Day 1: My Daily Success Plan + Happy Tweets Tuesday!

Good Morning, lovely, lovely, HAPPY People!

Coming out of a weekend of moving with a MASSIVE head cold, Monday acted as my weekend, even though I had a full day of work! I slept in, didn’t go to the gym (shame on me), made breakfast for my husband and I, went to work, and came home to watch a movie with my sister before heading to my friends’ house for a couple of hours. Very relaxed, VERY zen.

Well, now it’s time for me to rally the troops (troops meaning myself), and DO something!

I am in the middle of a lot of transition right now. As I mentioned previously, Timmykins and I moved this weekend (more on that later), I am still mentally transitioning into this new year and everything it means for me personally, and amongst all of this, I am transitioning into routine, and living towards my core desired feelings.

With this whole routine she-bang, I have decided to participate in another blog challenge with the lovely Natalie Sisson of http://suitcaseentrepreneur.com/. The last time I partook in her blog challenge, it made me open up and explore ideas that I never had before. This time, I am starting a little late, but at least I am showing up to participate (and whole-heartedly, at that)! Day #1 prompt? Share my daily success plan.

Current (most days):
Wake up early (6ish). Drink warm lemon water. GYM TIME! Healthy breakfast. Long shower. -WORK- Zumba, sometimes yoga. Healthy dinner. Work from home. Bed.

Going forward (nearly every day):
Wake up around 6. Drink warm lemon water. Gym time (with GUSTO) OR Yoga (with GUSTO). Make a healthy breakfast. Quick shower. Blog/check emails/schedule Roamin4Happiness posts. Work – build in deep breathing and movement breaks. Zumba and or yoga and or a long walk after work. Cook a healthy meal, and it with Timmykins. Reflect on the day. Go to sleep earlier!

I know that it is the lack of routine and self-accountability that is eating away at my days. I know I am my own worst enemy, and it’s time for me to stop me in my tracks by encouraging my own wellness and transformation. It is only then that my energy, creativity, happiness, and BLOG/lifestyle brand will THRIVE!

Oh, you know what else will thrive with routine? Happy Tweets Mondays. Or Tuesday (for an exception like today). And, I promise that if you get into the routine of reading them (like I do every week as I post them), they will put a little pep in your step!

So, now for today’s little pep. From me (and all those who tweet), to YOU!

Enjoy!

3 Recent-ish Developments

Yes, I know: we are over a month away from 2015. But first the first time in, well, EVER, I am really excited to work on very specific areas of my life in the New Year. No more of this lose-15-pounds, knit-10-items, be-more-beautiful mumbo jumbo. It’s time to be clear. It’s time to keep dreaming and scheming, but most of all it is time to sit my a** down and CREATE. Here are the 3 closest-to-my-heart items that I am going to create/develop in the New Year:

1. Myself. I have spent the last couple of months really delving into my desires, dreams, and how I want to feel when I make decisions. I am actually the worst decision-maker you may ever meet, so checking in with myself and asking how I want to feel with each decision is helping me to mature in this area. One of my greatest decisions I have made so far in this mindset?

2. This Community. I have made the decision to develop this platform into so much more. It needs a little TLC + idea-mapping before I can go into much else detail, but I will tell you this: I want this to be a community of like-minded people who want to live a journey of happiness. I want learning materials + a happiness shop + events + giveaways. And I want it all to launch in 2015 so we can all start a real, focused journey!

3. a FILM. I have wanted to be a filmmaker for years at this point. And in the last year – mainly because of our Roamin4Happiness community – I have decided that I want to create MEANINGFUL films. Films that inspire happiness. Films that change lives. Well, also funny films, but I will need a little help in that department 🙂 To start out, however, I have an idea up my sleeve that incorporate both #1 AND #2. More on that later…

For the remainder of 2014, I will be working with #SecretBloggersBusiness (and hopefully their #SBBscholarship ) to really dig into best plan + action for our community. I have so many ideas in this little ole brain-o-mine, but have just had a hard time with execution of these ideas in the past. With their assistance, I know that our community will become highly contagious, as well as sought-after. I also know that they can assist me in ways that I don’t even know yet (heck, with the #SBBscholarship , our original graphics + photographs will finally have a universal feel and develop leaps and bounds)!

So, at this time, I seek a little patience from you, my wonderful community of Happy People. Don’t stop doing what you do. Just know that this is the top priority of mine and that I am working to make this blog the best I can for us. The future may be blurry, but know that as we choose our own happiness, it becomes decisively more clear. Wonderfully, splendidly clear.

Thank you!

Happy Tweets Makeshift Monday

Hello All!

I know it is Tuesday, but it is my workweek Monday due to this past weekend’s wedding festivities.

Yes, Timmykins and I tied the knot, and I couldn’t be happier about it. Though I did get a little cranky with him last evening, so who knows if he is feeling the same…

🙂

Since I am starting back at work after a few days leave, I need a little motivation to back me up. And I think finding it in the form of Happy Tweets is the best way for the motivation to come to me. Why? Because they are short, sweet, memorable mantras that I can repeat to myself throughout the day. For confidence, motivation, and just pure happiness. Because, isn’t that something we ALL need at the start of a work week?

Enjoy!

Happy Tweets Monday

Well, Hello Happy People!

Fancy seeing you here! Shouldn’t you be, I don’t know, at work or celebrating St. Patrick’s Day or something?

I, myself, have spent my day at work, in a green pea coat (gotta stay festive!), in a very calm mood. And I have been told over and over that I should NOT be so calm right now…I am getting married in 4 days! Thinking about it gives me butterflies, but as you may know by now, I take one thing at a time. I have so much happening prior to the wedding that has nothing to do with it, that I need to get through those things and final preparations before it will really hit me!

In order to keep emotions at bay, as well as get me through these last few days of work, I think it’s best for me to continue on with this Happy Tweets routine as I do every week! What do you say? Are you ready to enjoy this Tweet roundup?

Here it goes!

These will do for you what you allow them to.

Thanks, and have a Happy Day!

Be The Squirrel

So, once upon a time there was this squirrel. He was a lonely little squirrel that just wanted a friend. So he stalked RoaminTwin until she caved and they were friends forever. The end.

OK, so that isn’t necessarily how the story ends, but real life started the same way…

Last week while on the stationary bicycle at the gym, I saw something move in the rafters above the television directly in front of me. I caught a glimpse of what looked like fur, and it was gone without a trace or sound. I turned and told Timmykins – who was on the stair stepper behind me – that there was something staring at me from above the TV. He called me crazy. I half believed I was, as it was towards the end of a long, strenuous workout, and maybe I was beginning to hallucinate from exhaustion.

About a week later, I was taking a short break between lifts and chatting with my mom and sister at that same gym, when I looked up and by chance caught the culprit: a squirrel. It was across the gym from me in the ceiling rafters. First, I pointed him out to my mom so she could verify that what I was seeing was real. Then, I hurried across the gym to get a picture or two to show Timmykins to prove my sanity. As I started walking back over to where I was initially, it started following me in the rafters above my head, moving without a sound. He scurried all the way over to the corner of the room where he ran down a bar leaning against the wall and disappeared onto the floor.

No, No, NO! For the first time during this current gym routine, I left without completing the entire workout. I am fine with little outdoor creatures being OUTSIDE, but once they come inside, we are no longer friends.

I let the man working the front desk know about the squatter in the gym (pun or no pun intended).

This is when I learned that the squirrel had made it’s way into the gym 3 times! Through being shooed out the door by humans, having his entrance boarded up (which he chewed straight through), and even a yard full of traps, he found his way back inside and out of the cold.

And this, my friends, is why I want to be more like this squirrel. Sure, I do not want to befriend the thing, but he is/was (I don’t know if they caught him at this point) so darn tenacious! He saw something he wanted (in this case, warmth from the more recent freezing temperatures in my region) and went for it. Did he fail? YES! But he learned how to overcome failure and didn’t give up.

Be that audacious little booger! Don’t just make goals, GO FOR THEM!

If a squirrel can do it, so can we!

What do you think, Happy People? Are you with me?

Happy Tweets Tuesday

Happy Tweets Tuesday has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?

It is always what happens when time gets away from me on Mondays, or motivation is lacking. The good thing is, it is less and less the latter these days, as inspiration to move forward towards my dreams is at an all time high. I mean, what can be more empowering than planning and physically setting out one of the biggest changes/steps/dreams of your life? For me, at the moment, it is the wedding to my Prince Charming, my Timmykins. But it’s also dreaming of our life. Setting the foundation of financial stability as well as planning the tiny steps to reach our dreams of travel, family, and potential business ownership: together.

What do Happy Tweets motivate YOU toward? What are your goals for this upcoming week? Small steps add up to big strides! Enjoy!
