Dear 2015

Well, hello, Dear 2015!

My name is RoaminTwin, and I want to introduce myself, because we are going to be spending a LOT of time together (365 days, to be exact)!

But, I also want to let you know how high my expectations are for you, because – if you have spent any time with 2014, as I have – you would know the amazing highs that took place in the last year:

– I got engaged + then married (WHATTTT?!?)
– Timmykins + I went on an overseas honeymoon adventure, in addition to a multitude of travels throughout the year
– The ROYALS went to the World Series (and I got to be at a handful of the games)!!
– It was a year of firsts: First year as a married woman, first year really starting to focus on my blog and branding, first year focusing on my personal development
– It was a year of lasts: My baby brother graduated high school, we said “See you later” to a few loved ones who passed away, I said goodbye to the semi-regular self-loathing and competitive mindset
– We welcomed babies and spouses and more into our circle of friends/family!
– I saw my idol, JULIE ANDREWS, in person, and she SANG! I can die happily, now 🙂

As each year has them, we also had some tough lows. A few are mentioned above, others are being worked through, and that’s OK! You need the bad to balance the good, or you would never know what good was!

Regardless, 2014 is going to be tough to top! But I believe in you!

I also want you to know, early on, that your expectations of me should be just as grand as my expectations of you. It is time to live my life based on how I want to feel, and not just one long to-do list. I will live unapologetically, organically, and intentionally with passion and tenacity! 2015, you are MY year.

First step? Taking care of some childhood dreams prior to turning 25 in a few months! Let’s do this!

Happy Tweets: To Be Used ANY Day Of The Week!

Good Afternoon, Happy People!

After each big event, I feel like things will calm down, that life will be a little less hectic. But, who the heck wants that, really? That sounds boring. So, instead of taking a weekend just to relax, get some things done around the house – you know, things that none of us have done in MONTHS – we decided to take a weekend trip up to see Timmykin’s grandma in Pennsylvania! It was not near enough time, but we packed in as much visiting and exploring as we could. That also meant that I didn’t have my computer on (except a little time to work on Saturday evening), which means no blogging until today! So, I apologize for my tardiness of our regularly scheduled Happy Tweets, but guess what? ANY day is a good day for Happy Tweets! Enjoy!

Happy Tweets Monday

Hello, Happy People!

I hope that life is treating you splendidly. If you don’t think life is good, is it your attitude that is getting you down?

Fear not! Today is the day of motivation and happiness brought to you by the people of Twitter! If you didn’t already know: these are tweets that I have retweeted over time as motivational, heart warming, or fun. They are meant to lift spirits and move us towards our dreams and goals.

Most recently, these suckers have helped motivate me to get to the gym daily (sometimes twice!) and lose 6 pounds! And to stick to my spending fast. Starting the second week and it is getting easier! Which is great, because with student loans, wedding, and general living, I feel that I am going to have to go on a semi permanent spending fast: and I am OK with that. Happy Tweets have also helped me realize that it is time I treat myself better, as well as better myself, and I have begun to experiment with cooking, writing, and even cleaning more (I am not the neatest person on the planet).

What do they do for you? Let me know, and maybe you will help someone else realize what motivational/happy quotes brings to their lives!

The Year of the “F” Word

Good Morning / Afternoon / Evening, Happy People!

Along with a little down time the last couple of weeks, I have been pondering what my word, theme, goals, etc. of the year 2014 are going to be. I thought that the relaxation would clear my mind and turn it into a canister for new materials and ideas.

Instead, the relaxation turned me into a lunatic. It made me feel so very unproductive. I know that shutting down every once in awhile is good for the body, spirit, and mind, but I just haven’t been able to fully tune into that idea. I am a mutli-tasker at heart, which is both a blessing and a curse for me. Maybe “tuning out” – not in the 1960s drug usage sense – is something I can work on in this new year. Heck: maybe I can learn how to multi-task relax!

That’s a bit overboard.

The moral of this story is that relaxation didn’t help me dream up my 2014 at all.

It wasn’t until I was pouring my morning cup of coffee yesterday that the light bulb turned on in my head and a beacon of light shown through the clouds atop my head to a choir of angels chanting my name…

2014 is The Year of the “F” Word!!

For everyone else, it can be their year of cleansing, simplifying, love, starting fresh, etc. And those are all WONDERFUL things to focus on within your year. But my 2014 begs to be a little more specific, while also all-encompassing. How the HECK do I do that? Well, by making this The Year of the “F” Word, of course!

And, I hate to break it to you, but I am not referring to THE “F” word (though, sometimes, you just have to not worry, not stress, know that you have done all that you can, and say “F it!”…which is something I need to work on as well). MY “F” words are:

not necessarily in the above order

Over the next few posts, I am going to go over each and why they are what I will focus on this year. They may seem self-explanatory, but each person holds a different perspective, and maybe mine is a fresh one to help motivate you towards your goal(s) for 2014!

Do you have a theme for 2014? If so, what is it? If not, let’s figure it out for you! Feel free to comment below or contact me privately!

And, as always: Have a Happy Day, Happy People!

Home Stretch…

Are you in need of a little motivation to make it through the next day and a half? We are in the home stretch…almost to that 4-day weekend (for some), but Thanksgiving for all! Take heed! Here are some motivation quotes and tweets to give you that surge of energy to get all of the “haftas” done and reach the finish line to food, family, and relaxation (can be combined with coffee and/or a piece of dark chocolate).

Enjoy! And get s*** done!

Happy Tweets Monday

Happy Monday, Happy People!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend where you did at least ONE thing out of pure joy. After a busy week filled with videos, photo shoots, soccer games, and the day job…I was ready for a lazy Sunday! So, that’s what I did: I took the day to just watch football, peruse Pinterest, and SNOOZE!

And, boy am I glad I got a day to recharge, because this week is going to be a doozy! Photo editing, a few more videos, a food tasting with a potential wedding caterer, and starting up a new fitness regimen! That is right, it’s time to dance my butt into BETTER shape and eat even MORE cleanly! Though I am not quite on the waking-up-early fitness regimen yet (hoping to ease into that in the next few weeks), scheduling zumba, yoga, and bootcamp classes, as well as time to go to the gym are really helpful to me. Yes, Timmykins is a great motivator, but I need to push myself more without his assistance. Putting things in writing really helps me to hold myself accountable (especially when I have the note “do it for the dress!!!” next to each scheduled gym time.

Naturally, in addition to a clear-cut schedule, I need a little motivation to start up this week. So, here are some Happy Tweets to help us all get revved up and start this week off right!

First of all, I want to thank you, my readers. Thank you so much for supporting me through this 30 Day Journey, and through this overall Journey of HAPPINESS. I couldn’t do any of this without your motivation and kind words. Though this blog as a whole is a journey, I thank you also for letting me take a break from my regular format and banter to work a little harder on myself. It is a joy to work for and with you in this life of happiness 🙂 Enjoy this Blog Challenge material? Stop by my twin sister’s BLOG for even MORE!

You read the title right: today isn’t the END of the race, but the beginning of a brand new journey for The RoaminTwin. Today marks the completion of a challenge…one that I didn’t get bored of or skip out on halfway through (maybe it’s because it isn’t a workout program…tehehe).

As of today (thanks to The Suitcase Entrepreneur), I now have the blueprint I need to my own amazing future. One where I call the shots, I do what I love, and I am HAPPY. Of course I am happy now, but I know I can make myself happy in so many ways! Is it a dream of mine to own my own business? Essentially, it has been a goal all along! My ideas of a production company, a film house, a photographer, a happiness guru…all of those come with the territory of being in charge of myself. Did I need a little motivation? Yes. And this has been my kick in the pants.

So, starting today – instead of taking this built-in day of rest and celebration – I want to begin challenging myself in other areas of my life that I didn’t realize needed much improvement until completing this blog challenge! Today I want to begin living even MORE simply.

I cleaned my room Monday. This meant getting rid of even MORE clothing, knick knacks, trash, and recycles. I drew out my budget for the next two weeks, as well as expenses for the next month. Buying anything for short-term pleasure (snacks, “I-wants” as opposed to “I-needs”) has been put on lock down. And I plan to go back through my room every-so-often (boy am I in the mood RIGHT NOW) to purge clothing and nonsense items some more.

How do YOU plan to live more simply? Is this a challenge that you feel you need to stack yourself up against?

Blog Challenge: Day 23

Ohhhhh GOODY! Day 23 is here, meaning ONE WEEK LEFT! I have said it before and I will say it again: This has been SO MUCH FUN! I am happy just thinking about all I have accomplished with these challenge prompts–and outside of these challenge prompts–since I began. I hope to instill more challenges in my life from here on out to get me out of my comfort zone and into a productive, life-changing zone!

If you have no idea what this Blog Challenge is, or want to join in on the fun, start HERE!

Enjoying the Blog Challenge material? Stop by my twin sister’s BLOG! We are answering the same questions separately to see how similar our answers are! Do YOURS match any of ours?

Prompt Day 23: What’s your level of location independence and your nomadic quotient?
In other words, how “homeless” can I be, and what are the factors that lead me to that conclusion?

A: When I was younger, I would collect things: rocks, key chains, pens, post cards, Beanie Babies…

As I have gotten older, I have noticed the frivolity of this practice and have stopped collecting things other than pictures and memories (for the most part). Do I still have my collections? All but the rocks. And a few writing utensils that I have used up. The good thing is, these habits weren’t for large, space-taking items, and my propensity to collect ended well before adulthood. But alas, I am a photographer at heart, and am so happy I live in a digital age, because there is no way on this planet that I would be able to keep a collection of prints of EVERY SINGLE PHOTOGRAPH I have ever taken.

All of this is a round-about way of saying that I could already be pretty location independent. At this time in my life, I think I could even be the highest level of location independent. I have so much of the world to explore, and I don’t have a huge collection of things that I am attached to and need to the extent of needing a home base. Would I use my parents’ house for storage? Absolutely! The good thing is, my stuff doesn’t take up much space. Then, off I would go to a different country whenever I would feel like it with my computer, some clothes, toiletries and other necessities in hand (I am a light packer as it is, so this wouldn’t be difficult). Oh, and I guess I should pack my fiance. He might not like me gallivanting around the world without him. One of the good things about us is that we both want to travel and have a drive for exploration…you could call us Lewis and Clark or something!

After a few years of this, I think I could settle into the second-highest level of location independence. I could see myself having a home base and traveling for bigger blocks of time in the future. This would be much more conducive to raising children in the same school system (or two), giving them a sense of normalcy and routine while also the adventure that I yearn for. Let me tell you: I don’t plan on living vicariously through anyone but myself. And, I want my kids to know that they don’t have to wait until they are retired and less able to do things to do them.

These ideas and wishes seem more and more realistic every day. Oh BOY I just can’t WAIT (…to be king…)!

If you had freedom to be location independent, what would you do with that power?

❤ The RoaminTwin

Blog Challenge Day 20

Oh, GOODNESS, Happy People! I have so much HAPPINESS I want to share with you, but I am determined to finish this 30 Day Blog Challenge whilst not bombarding you with novels every day! So, look forward to some VERY happy posts in the next few days (I might even multi-post a few times!). If you want to check out my progress from day one of the Blog Challenge, start HERE!

Enjoying the Blog Challenge material? Stop by my twin sister’s BLOG! We are answering the same questions separately to see how similar our answers are! Do YOURS match any of ours?

Today’s Prompt: State your top three tools that you will use (or already use) to save time and money and make your online world more seamless

A1: In the near future, I would like to do a complete redesign of this blog as a site with additional features, materials, and much much more! Good thing I have a Timmykins, and maybe I can bribe him to host and design my site for me (shameless plug: if you need webhosting, site building, etc. for less $$, he is the guy to go with! Contact me if you want more information!).

A2: I really want to get products and materials (both digital and physical) up and running to sell and give away! I would like to incorporate both PayPal and e-Junkie for this. GREAT things this way come…

A3: I am going to learn how to efficiently send out emailers! This will be awesome for everyone, because then you can receive absolutely FREE content to help spark happiness in your every day life right to your email inbox! Boy, is that something I wish I had NOW!

Don’t you?

What is making YOU happy TODAY?
