Happy Tweets Makeshift Monday

Hello All!

I know it is Tuesday, but it is my workweek Monday due to this past weekend’s wedding festivities.

Yes, Timmykins and I tied the knot, and I couldn’t be happier about it. Though I did get a little cranky with him last evening, so who knows if he is feeling the same…

🙂

Since I am starting back at work after a few days leave, I need a little motivation to back me up. And I think finding it in the form of Happy Tweets is the best way for the motivation to come to me. Why? Because they are short, sweet, memorable mantras that I can repeat to myself throughout the day. For confidence, motivation, and just pure happiness. Because, isn’t that something we ALL need at the start of a work week?

Enjoy!

Every positive thought propels you in the right direction.

Happy Tweets Monday

Well, Hello Happy People!

Fancy seeing you here! Shouldn’t you be, I don’t know, at work or celebrating St. Patrick’s Day or something?

I, myself, have spent my day at work, in a green pea coat (gotta stay festive!), in a very calm mood. And I have been told over and over that I should NOT be so calm right now…I am getting married in 4 days! Thinking about it gives me butterflies, but as you may know by now, I take one thing at a time. I have so much happening prior to the wedding that has nothing to do with it, that I need to get through those things and final preparations before it will really hit me!

In order to keep emotions at bay, as well as get me through these last few days of work, I think it’s best for me to continue on with this Happy Tweets routine as I do every week! What do you say? Are you ready to enjoy this Tweet roundup?

Here it goes!

I hope that these Tweets are little messages you can take to heart and carry with you throughout your day. Whether you are needing the motivation to finish a project, make it through a major transition in your life, or just need something to make you smile, I want this to do all of that and so much more.

These will do for you what you allow them to.

Thanks, and have a Happy Day!

Be The Squirrel

So, once upon a time there was this squirrel. He was a lonely little squirrel that just wanted a friend. So he stalked RoaminTwin until she caved and they were friends forever. The end.

OK, so that isn’t necessarily how the story ends, but real life started the same way…

Last week while on the stationary bicycle at the gym, I saw something move in the rafters above the television directly in front of me. I caught a glimpse of what looked like fur, and it was gone without a trace or sound. I turned and told Timmykins – who was on the stair stepper behind me – that there was something staring at me from above the TV. He called me crazy. I half believed I was, as it was towards the end of a long, strenuous workout, and maybe I was beginning to hallucinate from exhaustion.

About a week later, I was taking a short break between lifts and chatting with my mom and sister at that same gym, when I looked up and by chance caught the culprit: a squirrel. It was across the gym from me in the ceiling rafters. First, I pointed him out to my mom so she could verify that what I was seeing was real. Then, I hurried across the gym to get a picture or two to show Timmykins to prove my sanity. As I started walking back over to where I was initially, it started following me in the rafters above my head, moving without a sound. He scurried all the way over to the corner of the room where he ran down a bar leaning against the wall and disappeared onto the floor.

No, No, NO! For the first time during this current gym routine, I left without completing the entire workout. I am fine with little outdoor creatures being OUTSIDE, but once they come inside, we are no longer friends.

I let the man working the front desk know about the squatter in the gym (pun or no pun intended).

This is when I learned that the squirrel had made it’s way into the gym 3 times! Through being shooed out the door by humans, having his entrance boarded up (which he chewed straight through), and even a yard full of traps, he found his way back inside and out of the cold.

And this, my friends, is why I want to be more like this squirrel. Sure, I do not want to befriend the thing, but he is/was (I don’t know if they caught him at this point) so darn tenacious! He saw something he wanted (in this case, warmth from the more recent freezing temperatures in my region) and went for it. Did he fail? YES! But he learned how to overcome failure and didn’t give up.

Be that audacious little booger! Don’t just make goals, GO FOR THEM!

If a squirrel can do it, so can we!

What do you think, Happy People? Are you with me?

Blog Challenge Day 22

YOU SKIPPED A DAY!

OK, so Day 21 was another scheduled day of rest. Since I am a little bit behind, I chose to take one deep breath…then move on to Day 22!

This Blog Challenge has been a blast for me so far, and I hope it has been beneficial for you as well! In my ideal world, we would all follow through with this challenge and every challenge and dream set out for us thereafter, creating a world where everyone was doing what they want, when they wanted and working to their strengths and talents to build a better economy and a better world for a happier future.

This isn’t my ideal world as a whole, but I am doing what I can to make MY world ideal. I hope you will join me in creating your own happiness as well!

If you have no idea what this Blog Challenge is, or want to join in on the fun, start HERE!

Enjoying the Blog Challenge material? Stop by my twin sister’s BLOG! We are answering the same questions separately to see how similar our answers are! Do YOURS match any of ours?

Prompt: If you chose to live anywhere in the world, where would that be and why?

A: If I could live anywhere in the world, it would be in a coastal cottage in a picturesque area of England, Ireland, or Scotland. I would wake up every morning breathing in the salty ocean air, and be able to admire the magnificence of the world. No highways. No overpopulation. Just wide open spaces and beauty.

I would already know the language (English), but would learn new customs and be a hop, skip, and a jump from other areas of the world I would like to explore. In addition, I ADORE classic cottages and wonderful scenary, and would love to share that with Timmykins as we drink our morning coffee…then have our lunch…then afternoon tea. All from the comfort of our own home, with our own timeline, together.

Happy.

Today’s prompt asked me to reflect even more on my ideal world. So, I apologize for my continued reflection on this journey, but I ask you to reflect on your ideal world too! Then share it!

Blog Challenge: Days 17 & 18

Here I go, slacking again! I bet if it were you, you wouldn’t be slacking on me, would you??

I am happy to come back from these short hiatuses (even just a day or two) because I feel refreshed and ready to take on the world. Writing when I am not inspired is a bad idea for your, for me, for everybody!

So, without further ado, here are the prompts — and my responses to — the Blog Challenge Days 17 and 18!

Day 17 Prompt: What three steps can you take to build trust and credibility online for you, your brand and your business?

A: 1. I will engage my followers (that means you!) in meaningful and thoughtful conversation. I want to bring light to the depression epidemic and move people to a more cheery disposition. I will do this through Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and my blog, as well as through multiple other platforms that I will be developing here soon!

2. I plan on bringing a face to my blog. Those who know me personally know how I am and how I interact. They know that happiness is at the forefront of my attention. But my online audience — those of you who have opened your minds and hearts to me without even knowing my name — you only see my words and an occasional picture. I want you to see me in action, interact with me in real time. It’s coming…

3. I am dreaming of a day where I can go out into the world and meet you all. I can’t wait for the day where I have launched everything, started classes, coaching, etc. and have written a book and am on tour. Wouldn’t that just be lovely? I would be the happiest person on the planet, and maybe you would be willing to challenge ME in the subject! Would you?

Day 18 Prompt: What does your dream sales team look like and how will you ensure they help you build your business?

A: My dream sales team is made up of my best friends. They could be friends now, or readers-turned-friends! They have to have a history of happiness, and lead positive lives so that others will trust their opinions on happiness and the products that support a happy lifestyle — products I will be providing for you! Because, really, would you trust a negative Nancy with YOUR happiness?

If you want to check out my progress from day one, start HERE!

Blog Challenge: Day 2

If you are unsure as to what the hee haw this blog post is all about, check out yesterday’s post HERE!

Question: If you woke up tomorrow and were free to do anything you wanted with your life, what would you do and who would you be?

A: Oh goodness, this is tough! But, I guess you can’t move forward with your dreams if you don’t know what they are!

Starting in college, my dream is/was to become a filmmaker. I focused on it in my remaining time there, and made a short film for one of my final projects (in conjunction with The Twin) called ‘Severe Happiness’. It was so much fun to make, and it has been nearly 3 years since it was completed.

I haven’t made another.

On top of that, in the last few months I have started this blog on happiness, because it has been a HUGE priority in my life, and positivity has really gotten me places.

Did I mention I like to travel???

So, if I woke up tomorrow and could do ANYTHING, I would make films that matter. My idol is Judd Apatow for his raw, comedic, true-to-life (for the most part), candid movies. I love them so much! I want to make funny films, entertaining films. I would love to focus on happiness or the lack-thereof in some of them, but I would also like to focus on unscripted work, just an idea and take it from there. Or work with people in countries I have never explored. I want to make films that mean something. That stick for generations.

All of this while traveling and promoting the happy lifestyle.

And, who would I be? I would be me, of course! I like me enough to keep me around. I just need to be a less self-loathing version of myself. I have moments of displeasure, and they can drag me down for what seems like forever. But, overall, I love myself.

And you should love yourself too.

Will you join me in this challenge? It doesn’t matter if you get a late start!

Or, just share your answers in my comments! I would love to hear from you 🙂

Happy Tweets Monday!

It IS a Happy Monday! That is why everything has an exclamation point following it!

Mondays really aren’t all that bad. Honestly, they are one of my favorite days of the week. A fresh start to the next seven days. Everything laid out in front of me, anything could happen. Sure, they may be busy, but my productivity is at an all-time high, as is my drive to be productive in other areas of my life (besides work). After a weekend of rest (usually), I am ready to edit those photos, complete my workout, eat clean, and be an overall awesome person.

And did I mention it’s the best because it’s time for me to post Happy Tweets from the past week? Read ’em and weep! Actually, read them and get EXCITED!

Accomplished

Finally.

Finally. Finally…finally.

I FINALLY accomplished some things that I have been meaning to do for–quite literally–months. As I sat down for some alone time to continue editing photographs from a shoot, I noticed all of the edits sitting on my desktop. Pictures I flagged to be some of the best of our work in the last year or so. Pictures that needed watermarked. Pictures I was too lazy to watermark. Pictures that were supposed to be uploaded onto our website…6 months ago!

I would love to say things got in the way:

My brother’s sporting games
Timmykin’s hockey schedule
Photo shoots – what this website is centered around
Vacation
Funerals and family emergencies
Oh, and that whole getting engaged thing —planning has become a full time job, on top of my full time job, on top of my part time job, interests, and hobbies. WHAT?!?!

Regardless, I put it off so much that I plum forgot.

So, I added the watermark to around 200 photos. Took those photos to my website guy (who just happens to be Timmykins!–convenience where I was otherwise excusing myself). Narrowed those photos down even further. And UPDATED.

6 months of putting something off is REALLY not worth it. That could have been done 1/2 a year ago! Jiminy!

I also finished another personal-ish project of mine that I should have completed a month ago. Small, but I feel sooo relieved to have completed it.

Accomplishment is a big word that can be applied to any size task, dream, or goal. The only advice I can give on this one is: Just. Do. It.

What have YOU been meaning to accomplish? What is holding YOU back?

Happy Thursday, Happy People!
