Happy Tweets: Monday EVENING Edition!

I have said it before and I will say it again: Happy Tweets are appropriate ANY TIME! I am in need of a little motivation this evening as I organize, pack, and move forward with some DREAMS in my off time! But, once I get home, I tend to think “Ehhh, I have all the time in the world!” to take care of things! Guess what: THE time is NOW!

So, enjoy, and then get your but up and do something to better yourself! I sure will!

Once In A Lifetime

I don’t know if you all remember this, but a couple of months ago, I had to Pump The Brakes! I nearly purchased 5 tickets for my family to see Julie Andrews in her speaking series in May. In England. With no prior plans to be there AT ALL.

Well, little did I know that – in Timmykin’s scouring of the internet for the perfect Christmas gift – he too had run across this speaking series that my idol had scheduled across The Pond. And without reading my blog post, he came to me with a proposition:

Let’s go to England for our honeymoon and see Julie Andrews while we are there!

At first, I thought he was just doing this to make me happy. We already had this elaborate plan – well, IDEA; nothing set in stone – to go to Germany around Oktoberfest this coming fall. We were going to take in all of the history, drink some beer, and make a trip over to Austria to take the ‘Sound of Music’ tour (guess whose idea THAT was??). We had talked about traveling to Germany since long before getting engaged, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to do so.

But here is the reasoning he gave me:

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Germany and Oktoberfest will be around for the foreseeable future, but Julie Andrews won’t be around forever. Plus, anything we do is an adventure, and there is plenty I want to see and do in England as well!

OK, I can get with that!

So, this past weekend, we booked our tickets to see Julie Andrews LIVE and IN PERSON! Nothing else has been booked yet, but the first step has been taken! Now all we need is his passport, tickets, hotels, trains…we are getting there 🙂

So, here is just one piece of advice I can offer you from this experience thus far:

Whether you decide to marry or not, choose to spend your time with at least one adventurer in your life. Whether it’s venturing to different countries, or just different restaurants together, it will be a happy relationship! And, if you just so happen to be able to marry this adventurer in your life, more power to you! I did!

Happy Tweets Makeshift Monday

Hello All!

I know it is Tuesday, but it is my workweek Monday due to this past weekend’s wedding festivities.

Yes, Timmykins and I tied the knot, and I couldn’t be happier about it. Though I did get a little cranky with him last evening, so who knows if he is feeling the same…

Since I am starting back at work after a few days leave, I need a little motivation to back me up. And I think finding it in the form of Happy Tweets is the best way for the motivation to come to me. Why? Because they are short, sweet, memorable mantras that I can repeat to myself throughout the day. For confidence, motivation, and just pure happiness. Because, isn’t that something we ALL need at the start of a work week?

Every positive thought propels you in the right direction.

Happy Tweets Tuesday

Happy Tweets Tuesday has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?

It is always what happens when time gets away from me on Mondays, or motivation is lacking. The good thing is, it is less and less the latter these days, as inspiration to move forward towards my dreams is at an all time high. I mean, what can be more empowering than planning and physically setting out one of the biggest changes/steps/dreams of your life? For me, at the moment, it is the wedding to my Prince Charming, my Timmykins. But it’s also dreaming of our life. Setting the foundation of financial stability as well as planning the tiny steps to reach our dreams of travel, family, and potential business ownership: together.

What do Happy Tweets motivate YOU toward? What are your goals for this upcoming week? Small steps add up to big strides! Enjoy!

Happy Tweets Monday

Good Morning, Happy People!

I hope you all had an amazing, relaxing, REFRESHING weekend! Mine was busy, what with Timmykin’s bachelor party and all of the shenanigans surrounding. Suffice it to say, I am a little worn out, and am already looking towards this coming weekend as a refresher. And on top of that? Our favorite pizza shop was open for it’s last day of business on Saturday. So, I went in the middle of my clean eating binge…not once, but TWICE! For the first time, I didn’t feel the need to overindulge in the food, even though I knew it was the last time I would enjoy their fresh, deep dish pizza! I did really well with it all, but pizza is still not on my list of foods I should be eating when trying to change my life. So, this girl needs a little motivation to get her jump start on the week! What do you say?

Happy Tweets Monday!

Hello, Hello, Happy People!

I hope you had a fruitful weekend! Albeit fruitful in work, play, or sleep! Did you do what was healthy and invigorating for you?

Mine was a weekend filled with marriage prep classes, my brother’s high school basketball game, a family dinner, knitting, eating healthy, and working out! I didn’t skip a day AT ALL last week in the beginning of my new work out program (woo hoo!!!), and I am so energized to continue on! Even on the “rest” days I am getting my cardio in through zumba and yoga or heading to the gym to choose from their selection of cardio machines! Due to all of this hard work, my sore muscles serve as an AWESOME reminder that putting sugar, sugar, sugar into my body (I have a massive sweet tooth) will just undo all of the pain and work I put in at the gym. I did bend and share half of a bagel with Timmykins at marriage prep class, but it was just the bit of “bad” I needed to continue on. It’s OK to indulge every once in awhile, but while I am trying to break this habit of eating sweet all of the time (and lose weight while I’m at it), I just need to stay away as much as possible! Lunch today? 4oz of grilled chicken, cucumbers, carrots, and the TINIEST bit of cottage cheese!

Writing this out – just laying it out in front of me – is really helping me hold myself accountable, and I LOVE IT! 1 week down in this program, 11 weeks left, and the rest of my life left to live healthily!

Now, onto what you’ve all been waiting for: HAPPY TWEETS MONDAY!

Are you as motivated as I? If not, read some of these and get your head in the game for this week! Enjoy!

Blog Challenge: Day 1

Happy Thursday, All!

Starting today (a few days late of the “official” start date) I will be partaking in a 30 Day Blog Challenge.

I guess my week is just FULL of challenges, isn’t it? 🙂

I started this blog as a reminder to myself of happiness in the big AND small things in life. Thankfully, it has begun to grow into a community of people working for happiness in their own lives and supporting one another, and I am SO grateful for this opportunity to interact with you all!

The more stories I have shared, advice I have written, and questions I have asked, the greater my “Oomph!!” (desire) to continue to spread the idea of happiness as THE journey of life to every corner of the world. Though I enjoy where I am at in life at this moment, if I could, I would pick up and leave today to travel, speak, share, and live a life of happiness.

That would leave me jobless. And broke.

At least at this point.

My hope now is that this blog challenge (led by Natalie Sisson at suitcaseentrepreneur.com) will inspire me to move towards a handful of my BIGGER goals that have otherwise fallen by the wayside. Maybe even dreams that haven’t been realized yet. All of this alongSIDE the savings challenge between myself and Timmykins (you will be my cheerleader, right?)

Even though we are a little late on the uptake, you can join me on this challenge HERE!

And/or, just keep coming back to see what kind of opportunity this happiness journey o’ mine might turn into.

The possibilities are endless…

Happy Thursday, Happy People!

A Prayer. Or Wish. Whichever you choose…

I will admit: I am not one who prays on a regular basis. Not on purpose. I have just let life get in the way. And that is no excuse.

But, just because I haven’t been the most devout pray-er doesn’t mean I don’t have a prayer in me. And today, I DO in fact have a very special prayer in me:

Today I pray for the cheerleaders. The spunky, upbeat motivators. The smiling, laughing optimists. They lift my spirits and bring sparkle and shine into this life-o-mine. I pray that they find the encouragement that they constantly give others, and know they have outlets in which to place their concerns as well. Positive outlooks are possible, but everyone has their days.

I hope that everyone-prayerful or not-can join me in this wish. You know who the cheerleaders are in your life. You also know if you are one of those people. Thank you so much for everything that you do; you do NOT go unnoticed.

Amen 🙂

Who are the cheerleaders in YOUR life?
