Happy Tweets Monday!

It’s so crazy to me knowing that I have instilled a positive routine for myself in Happy Tweets Monday that I never get sick of or lapse on. Sure, sometimes the Happy Tweets won’t get posted until later in the week, but they are always there, week in and week out.

I utilize Twitter as a source of inspiration for myself, retweeting as I see fit, and re-sharing with my readers and myself as I see appropriate. Because, sometimes we need an outside source of happiness, motivation, a kick in the butt, even if ever so tiny. This is my tiny, regular, contribution to myself and the world to do all of the above, and I hope that you enjoy it!

And now, your weekly does of Happy Tweets 🙂

Happy Tweets Monday

Is it already that time of the week again??? Let me tell you: this weekend was WAY too relaxing. I think I got more sleep on Saturday and Sunday than I have in the last month total! With so much to catch up on and do – especially around the Holidays – I really can’t afford to nap so much! But you know what? I don’t feel an ounce of regret for my napping! It was especially nice to bring my family’s dog, Kali, over to my new house to cuddle with me.

But now, I need that extra push to get motivated to get all of my work done this week PLUS everything I meant to do this weekend (whoops)!

So, here are some happy tweets that I know will motivate me to get off my ass and get moving! I hope they do the same for you!

Enjoy!

Me, Me, MEEEEE

As of late, I have been seeing (and reading) many articles on Generation Y. How they don’t work as hard, are less talented/driven/skilled, yet still act entitled.

I am part of said generation. So, I want to clear a few things up.

Do I think some people in my generation are lazy, talentless, entitled pricks? Yes. I see what this guy is saying. But those exist in every generation. What I see is a different world from what my parents, grandparents, so on and so forth grew up in. It is constantly evolving, always has been and always will be. I see internships (nonexistent for my parents) that are nonpaying, and student loans that have skyrocketed. I see basically everything that the author sees in this article.

From my perspective, I expect to work for the rest of my life. I believe that this is the time of my life to work hard and earn my way up in the world. But, I also believe that loyalty, hard work, and new ideas should result in climbing up the corporate (or non-corporate) ladder and benefit/salary raises. I know that I can’t be a talentless, lazy ass and make it in this world, but more power to the people who have made it work for them. I know that work and outside life have started melting into each other, and we should look at it as a lifestyle change. Not that we should be on call every moment of the day, but that work places should be more flexible in how their employees work. If you don’t trust them to work from home, then do you really trust them at all/want them on your team?

I don’t believe that people get the recognition they deserve. But I also don’t think that recognition is all it is about. I know that people are constantly getting taken advantage of, and that putting a price on humans and their lives spent (or wasted) in the office is a degrading thing to do. More so if they can’t even afford to live on their own.

I see these things everywhere. Don’t you?

What I don’t see very much is people trying to understand one another. Instead of working with and teaching one another the ideals of each generation and how valuable they all are, people are just pointing fingers left and right. I want communication (a degree in Communication Studies does NOT make you a great communicator. TRUST ME). I want people to put themselves on a level playing field with everyone else. I want to see everyone working together towards their common business/office goals. I don’t care how old you are, how much you make, or what your past is like: each company has common goals. That means everyone should be working just as hard to reach them.

You were brought onto a team for a reason. Innovate. Be your best self, do your best work. Be grateful. And, dammit, quit comparing yourself to others.

Rant over.

❤ The RoaminTwin

*I chose to write about this because it is so back and forth. Everything is changing, and we as humans have to change as well. Comparison is a big factor here, and it has no place in ANYONE’s lives. I work very hard every day to not compare myself to others, but only to my past self. Won’t you join me?*Image

Blog Challenge Days 10 & 11!

I slacked yesterday. I have officially broken the chain of blogging every day. I do love blogging, but sometimes I need a day away from the computer. So, I did just that. And it was splendid.

So, today I will take care of the challenge prompts for days 10 and 11. I might double up on a couple here this week because I started this whole shebang a couple days after the official start date. Doesn’t change the validity of my posts, but it would be cool to take care of them in a more timely manner as prompts are made available.

If you are unsure as to what the hee haw this blog post is all about, check out my Day 1 post HERE!

If you are enjoying the Blog Challenge material, stop by my twin sister’s BLOG! We are answering the same questions separately to see how similar our answers are! Do YOURS match any of ours?

Mission Statement: I want to work towards developing a successful online business. It want to live in happiness, I want to help others live in happiness, and I want additional freedoms to live comfortably while exploring the world.

Day 10 Prompt: What are the key ways in which you want to make money online in your chosen business OR Which are the key online revenue streams you want to focus on in your existing business?

A: I love happiness, I love spreading it and living in it. So, I have already begun work on original material to share with the world! There is so much to say in so many formats and so many interactions to be had aside from this blog. I just cannot imagine every single possibility. But they WILL be explored, and I hope you are along for the ride!

I would also love to dun dun dunnnn…promote and sell others’ products through my work. If we all would utilize our networking abilities and help one another reach our dreams, why don’t we take those opportunities? Also, I would LOVE to recommend items to help others on their pathways to/in happiness as those items have assisted me.

Day 11 Prompt: Which business model is best for you and what one revenue stream is most feasible?

A: Because I want to work on my active happiness as well as actively assist others on their happiness journeys, the business model that is best for me is to work on my personal branding. I have brought the RoaminTwin into this wold for a reason, it is time to use her for even GREATER good! How do we all feel about that? The most feasible revenue stream at this time would be to become even MORE active and interactive online and in person in this endeavor. I know what I must do, now it is time to put in the work.

For you. For me. For HAPPINESS

Blog Challenge: Day 4

Happy Sunday, Happy People!!!

Thank you so much for continuing to join me on not only my lifelong journey of happiness, but also this 30 day blog challenge! I hope you are enjoying the process-and maybe even answering the questions on your own-as much as I am!

I just want to take a moment to reflect on the last 24+hours and how happy they have made me. It started with J&T’s baby shower yesterday, followed by an interview (that I feel I ROCKED by the way :)), a baseball game with friends (and my first tailgate EVER…weeeeeeee!), and joyous news followed by excitement I just cannot contain! Today was my first venture into wedding dress shopping with a sample sale. Bad news: what was on sale doesn’t carry the ethereal whimsy I am looking for for my big day (sounds stupid, but I have this vision…). Good news: I made an appointment to go back with my mom and my MOH on Wednesday. Time to turn down the volume on the voice in my head that makes fun of me when I try on clothes so i can say YES to a dress!

I hope that your weekend has been just as splendid, and maybe you will share what has made you happy in the last 24-48 hours?

Back to business…

Today’s Question: What is your definition of location independence?

A: Location independence is the ability to travel the world, sometimes on a whim, or live where I want without being “tied down” while also making an ample living. I don’t want to be a world explorer living off of daddy’s money, nor do I feel like living poor is the way to go. While I am young it seems fine, but I need to save so I can live comfortably later in life. I want to be able to visit friends and family and come and go as I-and they- please. I want to be able to be in the lives of those I love when they need me and spend time with them while I still can. It means that where I work and play can be the same place and my location is flexible to where I want to be.

What is YOUR definition of location independence?

Happy Tweets Monday

Hi all!

Welcome back to the work week from a fabulous holiday weekend! As hectic as some of your schedules may be, I hope you had at least a few moments to breathe and relax. I did that editing a photo shoot yesterday! Sometimes editing is stressful to me, but we have had some of the best clients here recently, and I thoroughly enjoy going through the photographs 🙂

But, enough about me, let’s get us ALL motivated for the upcoming week with some Happy Tweets! Enjoy!

Work

Before I start this post:
My TRUEST Birthday wish is that everyone I know and love, and everyone they know and love, and so on and so forth: stay warm, safe, and adventurous today. But most of all: HAPPY

A conversation yesterday:

Co-worker A: “You blog? I bet you don’t blog about work.”
Co-worker B: “She blogs about happiness.”
Co-worker A: “So, I KNOW you don’t blog about work.”

Yes, this provided a bit of comic relief in our day. But it’s true: I DON’T blog about work.

And really, that’s a shame.

Because work makes me happy. I have work I like, amazing, caring coworkers, and a wonderful group of superiors. It really is a second family. And when work isn’t making me happy, I make happy work.

But, isn’t that how life should be?

I have times that I feel down. But if I don’t try to pick myself back up, then my fowl mood is my own damn fault. If I am not happy in the situations I am in, I can fix them. Because, ultimately, my mood is mine and mine alone to control.

Which is why, even when I am having an off day or working on a project I don’t particularly enjoy, I am happy. I am keeping busy. I am employed. I am happy.

So, though I won’t go into great detail about my work day or vent about our POS system, I will sing the praises of my work if asked. And always remember that it is a privilege to be so naturally happy in a life situation. And work is a major part of that.
